A Guide to Common Furnace Problems in Hamshire, TX Homes

Your furnace is a complex machine. Here are some of the most common issues our Hamshire, TX technicians encounter, and what they might mean for your system.

  • Your Furnace Won't Turn On: This could be something simple like a tripped circuit breaker, an issue with your thermostat's settings or batteries, or a turned-off furnace power switch. It could also indicate a more complex problem with the transformer, thermostat, or control board.
  • Your Furnace is Blowing Cold Air: The most common cause is a dirty flame sensor that needs cleaning. It could also be a problem with the pilot light or electronic ignition system, or an issue with the gas supply.
  • The Furnace Burner Flame is Yellow, Not Blue: A yellow or flickering burner flame is a serious safety concern. It often indicates dirty burners or a problem with the gas-to-air mixture, which can produce carbon monoxide. If you see this, turn off your furnace and call us immediately.
  • You Hear Strange Noises: A high-pitched squealing could mean a problem with the blower motor belt or bearings. A rattling noise might indicate loose panels or hardware. A loud booming or banging sound on startup could be a delayed ignition issue, which is dangerous and requires immediate professional attention.
  • Your Utility Bills Have Increased Suddenly: A sudden spike in your heating bills for your Hamshire, TX home can be a sign that your furnace is losing efficiency. This is often caused by dirty filters, a poorly maintained blower, or leaky ductwork. A professional furnace cleaning can often help.If you're experiencing any of these issues in your Hamshire, TX home, it's best to call a certified professional from ATM HVAC Furnace Repair for a safe and accurate diagnosis.

Hamshire, TX Insights: Population,
Zip Codes, Influence, and Service Areas

Hamshire (/ˈhæmʃər/ HAM-shər) is an unincorporated community in western Jefferson County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area and located on State Highway 124 twenty miles southwest of Beaumont. It was probably named for Lovan Hamshire, who developed the land as early as the 1870s. Hamshire was on the Gulf and Interstate Railway with a post office being established there in 1897. A townsite plat was filed in 1911 by Theodore F. Koch. Another major land dealer, Herbert Roedenbeck, subdivided additional land south of the railroad later that year, giving the subdivision the name Hamshire Gardens. Although there was interest shown by local rice farmers, Hamshire had only fifty inhabitants in 1928. The Fannett (1927) and Stowell (1941) oil fields discovery initiated new development in western Jefferson County. By 1940, the population in Hamshire had grown to 200. Natural gas production at the Hamshire field also continued to be of major importance to the community's economy through the 1980s. By 1985 the community had an estimated 350 residents and twenty-two businesses. In 1990 the population remained an estimated 350.
